I don't know if you got to see the Oprah show today but it was about child
sex offenders. There is a new act called the Adam Walsh Act (named after
the slain son of John Walsh that started the America's Most Wanted show).
The legislation, just passed in Congress, makes it a federal felony when a
convicted sex offender fails to register. It also creates a national website
and database of these offenders, and charges marshals with tracking
offenders. The Adam Walsh Act also makes it mandatory for each state to have
consistent and uniform laws.

Oprah strongly requested that each of us contact our Senator and Governor
and send them a letter (that is already written up...you can download it
from her website) asking to pass this act right away.
