I went out the door this morning only to find that the ground was covered in this fluffy green stuff my huge, giant front-yard dwelling tree sheds every spring. All over my car, all over the driveway, and you could see an exact rectangle where Shannon's car had been parked overnight. I looked up and saw that the tree has leafed out overnight from naked branches to green-fluffly looking baby leaves everywhere.

So we ran around the yard for a few minutes checking everything out- my Lenten Roses are blooming, the oak leaf hydrangeas are all leafing out, my day lillies are coming up with a vengance, I can see bee balm peeking out from under the mulch, my sedum is coming up, I have a miniature dianthus that is on its third? fourth? growing season which is starting to bloom, my catmint is starting to green up, the elephant garlic is coming up, basically everything is just overnight exploding into growth!

I think it's fun to see how quickly plants get busy with it

What signs of spring are happening at your house?

Our cherry trees are flowering (so glad it didn't rain hard and knock off all the blooms today!), we've already been picking dafodills, our azalea's are blooming, I have 1 iris that's already bloomed, and several more on their way, tulips are coming up and should be blooming within the week, our crocus and hyacenth's are almost through blooming, the daylilies and bearded iris are about 8 inches tall, the sedum is awake and creeping I can already see new growth, the lamb's ears are lush, the roses, pineapple sage, mumms, hydrangeas, and butterfly bushes are putting out new growth, and the dahlia's are peeking out of the ground. That's just what I noticed yesterday! There is no telling what's changed today. Oh, I wanna go buy more plants soooo bad!

Oh, and the kids both have sunflowers they've started in the kitchen window that have grown 4 inches in the past 2 days!

i love the bright light green leaf buds! i've been watching all week as the hillsides are getting more and more of them, like a sponge panting on a dark canvas.
i pass a lane of bradford pears and the bright green made it seem so bright. Seems the blossoms came up quick this year or is it just time moves quickly. It is mid march.

i did however miss the daffodils this year. i always love seeing those near the end of Feb, and this year i looked but didn't see any.

Green stuff everywhere here, too! And it blows right into the house, lol, so I know it's spring because I have to clean more and start using my anti-allergy stuff.

Yes, I walked out my front door this morning to see that my lawn has finally greened up... the weed patches were the only green spots until now!

My dogwoods are so pretty right now and I know they wont last long. Even my cannas are peaking through the earth. This is such a great time of year here in AL, except for the allergy gunk.

I know it's spring just because I am sneezing like crazy!! My car is supposed to be blue. Well, not anymore, it's green!

I love seeing everything bloom though. I noticed that my roses are getting buds now. I can't wait for them to be in full bloom!
